A friend posted a resume for the position of junior ux / ui designer, I don’t understand what’s wrong with it?

Last year, my friend decided to take a Yandex.practicum course. She has been engaged in creative activities for a long time: design for social networks and design of composites for models. But she wanted more and so she took courses to become a ux / ui designer in the future.

Now she is studying, and she wanted to apply for an internship or work as a novice designer (for experience), but no one answers her, although she sends cover letters.

Tell me what can be improved and how to help her?

PS: is there some kind of ageism on the market now, or white people who came from courses? hope there is no discrimination

I would write in my profile more about what I want to change the field of activity. And in plain text, that she is very interested in the internship.
And comment on irrelevant work experience. That, they say, yes - not a designer, but such and such personal qualities, at least, were developed. At least it is clear that she is not a slob (since she worked for someone) - you can carefully formulate and speak this thought, and not leave the HRs to think for themselves.
You can invite to the portfolio - they say, here is the link, be sure to go.
More about work experience - is there any way to move "Darcy Studio" to the top of the list, up? And teaching - below? Or is HH forced to arrange it this way? (I don’t remember how and what on HH) It’s just that now a person starts reading - and from the threshold he sees a “teacher”, so he may not reach the “content manager”, quit ... By the way, you can rename the “content manager” along the way " in "content manager with designer functions"; Change the job title a bit.
The certificate is weak :( Only 6 hours of training. We need to get some more certificates somewhere.

Completely empty resume. I read it three times and did not understand in what area this person is a specialist and what he does in general.

Just huge competition. Here you can think for yourself - here we have a specialist with experience and a portfolio, and there is what we see on the link to the resume and both claim the same salary. Who will the employer choose? More on that in the next issue.

Starting a resume with "I'm learning" and repeating it throughout the text is just stupid.
They are looking for people who can do something, who are pros, and not who are learning.
Portfolio - just UG. Frankly. Such design students do in 5 minutes on their knees.
Everyone just doesn’t care what kind of letters you left in your resume. They look at your work, at you, and at the results of the test - everything. I do not intend to offend, I understand that a person is learning. But there is nothing better than the truth.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
