Zendesk theme customization, no versioning?

Good afternoon!
There was a task about customizing the default theme. A number of questions emerged. Is it possible to edit the layout remotely? Is there no versioning at all? Only on a new topic to figure out? Is it possible to do something with the editor, at least some auto-completion or something like that?
