From time to time Youtube tests different features on a certain sample of users (random). Try deleting cookies from Youtube (it helped me to return the standard fullscreen player, otherwise they “hung” me with a new option in which you can’t navigate the video directly - only the “skip forward” and “skip back” buttons).

that's all in the fact that only in safari and only under a poppy I observe this :)

clip looks like a black window is a flash block plugin works (if you click on it, the video will load)
that I'm not the only one :)
this has been happening to me for several months, maybe of course I installed something that modified the appearance of YouTube, but I'm extremely unsure about this :)

It is most likely that youtube is practicing changes on the part of users.
Have you looked at the source code of the page? Maybe http5 and css3 elements are not loaded there? What browser versions?
