Yii2 what is frontend and backend?

Hello.
I master such a wonderful framework as Yii2 and just do PHP. There was a question. In the second version of Yii, 2 daddies frontend and backend appeared. In my understanding, the front is how the page looks, roughly speaking html/css/js, and the back is the business logic itself, how the application works, etc.
Apparently, in this case, the logic of separating these categories is different? Help deal with this issue.

В контексте конкретно этого разделения в Yii2:
фронтенд - сайт;
бекенд - админка.
Но ваше понимание тоже используется, просто в контексте разработки.
