XP mode in Windows 7 - a full-fledged sandbox?

Need a sandbox to safely run potentially dangerous programs. Since Windows 7 Pro is installed on the new laptop, I decided to abandon virtual machines (VMWare, Virtual Box) and use the standard XP mode tool. But since I had never used this function before, a question arose. Is this mode a full virtual machine? Or is it so integrated with the main OS that a program running in XP mode can access the shared file system? Or is it still a full-fledged virtual machine with its own hard drives, etc. etc.?

She is incomplete. There are no snapshots. Disks from the host OS are connected as network drives to the guest OS. Works crap.
