XMPP: communication not working

For the second day I have been trying to send a message via the command line from a laptop under Ubuntu 10.10 to an iPad 2 with QIP and Talkonaut on board, Android 2.2 with Google Talk, and just to a computer under Windows 7 with Miranda, I don’t remember which version.
I send the message to my Google Talk account, from QIP and Jabber.ru accounts. I have already tried a ton of scripts like this one, with different libraries and in different languages - Perl, Python, PHP. They all write that they were successfully sent, but not a single message comes to GTalk.
Devices are connected to each other via LAN, cable or Wi-Fi. Internet access is free, port 5222 and GTalk, QIP and Jabber.ru are not blocked. What could be the problem?

Are the contacts from which the message is sent added to the roadlist (contact list) of GTalk?
