XFCE4-terminal 0.6.3 does not print the password to perform operations as root. What to do?

The password is not entered when it is necessary to perform operations on behalf of sudo. They are printed on the keyboard, and the password does not appear in the emulator. OS linux mint 18.1 xfce4.
