Worthy alternative to phpexcel?

I thought that phpexcel is a remedy for all problems, but it was not there. I have a page with a table. Is there any way to send it to Excel so that you do not have to manually enter all the fields. but click on the button and everything that is in <table>went to excel? or am I too naive?
UPD
, among other things, the understanding came that it makes sense to simply save the page with the desired extension on the button.
tell me how to do it?

This is done by javascript: stackoverflow.com/questions/17126453/html-table-to...
I haven't tried it myself, but I suspect that Excel will swear at the format of the resulting file
. There is also an excellent js lib js-xlsx : https:// github.com/SheetJS/js-xlsx There is already a full-fledged xlsx ... They have a working example in the examples of converting html tables to excel, including tables with a complex structure.

If you need a quick import then libxl. I could not find another more suitable one. Here is a topic about him habrahabr.ru/company/pechkin/blog/224207/. Only he is paid.
