Workshop in web-programming. Where to begin? And where did you start?
I am 16, and I know the basics of css and html, I tried php, but I didn’t understand anything from the book (I don’t remember the name and author, it was a year ago).
So, I know the theory, but zero in practice - advise literature, well, or self-study methods without books.
And is it worth it to "hollow" php again, or start with ruby (links are only a plus)

I would advise you to start with the C# programming language and then
ASP.NET ( www.asp.net )
-Depending on what tasks you want to solve... If not large business card sites, etc., then of course PHP
I think that before starting to learn another language (ruby) it was extremely useful to deepen my knowledge in php. Well and to study sql.
I myself started by writing a small web portal (authorization, user's personal page, chat, forum, gallery, articles with comments).
