Hello! I often come across the fact that on the site someone pushes a 3000x4000px image into a 300x400px area and the page weighs 50mb as a result.
Is there a plugin that will go through the images on the entire site and make the thumbnails of the right size?

As Arseniy Matytsin wrote , when loading a picture, the VP independently creates several truncated copies. Another thing is what size copy you are posting.
Use jetpack with image optimization feature. It will replace images with optimized ones on the fly
