Wordpress hosting: Digital Ocean or Wordpress.com?

I ask for advice: how to free up time for the front-end, maybe change the hosting?
I would like to shift some of the worries to technical support, for example, Wordpress.com. We are talking about current security, updates, consultations in case of brakes. Can you count on them in this, as experience shows?
Digital Ocean is good for everyone, but it takes a lot of time for self-education (to the detriment of humanitarian work on the project). The project itself is 300k per month, at the same time peaking up to 80 online, the database and files are 0.5Gb each.
So far, the experience of communicating with attracted freelancers has been unsuccessful - it turned out to be easier to do it yourself than to explain and ask for a long time. Those. the project is left unattended. Vicious circle ((

"If you want to do well, do it yourself ..." - I was convinced of this.
And as for whether to trust one or another hosting provider, etc., then it is worth considering the pros and cons.
For example, I would choose other providers. It's also important to consider your budget.
IMHO - https://www.vps.ag/ seems to be a good option

do you think at least some hoster will roll out plugin updates for you for paying for basic services, or what?

An interim summary, for those who are interested.
Having studied Wordpress.com, I saw that their security policy is based on strictly advised scripts and prohibitions. Even on paid plans. This significantly ties the hands on the development of the project.
In a word, it doesn't fit...

A very strange comparison. If the standard templates and plugins from the wp.com set are enough for you, and if their price tag suits you, then go to wp.com!
If you need control and complete customization, then you can only choose between VPS hosters. In my experience, DO is a very good hoster.
And the fact that you can’t find anyone to serve your site is very strange. According to wp specialists the same rampart in the market. Both good and not so good.
