Windows7 and ext4?

Hello! My wife, after long throwing between open source software and Photoshop, asked me to install Windows on my laptop. And since 2012, it has happened that way under Windows, I only watch movies, play games and read the news. Since then, I still have an OEM disk with Win7x64 of the sample of 2010, in my opinion, and an activator (it seems to be still working in 2014). The problem is that after installing Win on the laptop, there will be an HDD with half a terobyte of various data such as photos, videos, documents (partially in .odt) and all this in ext4. I know from personal experience that if you need to bring some document or file from work, then it is better to format the flash drive immediately in NTFS, because my home computer will not see ext4 itself. Now I googled that there is such a thing as Ext2Fsd - will it really allow you to work after installing Windows with data on the HDD in ext4?
PS Still in pursuit I want to ask about safety. Is Avast free enough now to pay online and use public services? And then, while Ubuntu was standing, I didn’t worry much - my wife could never remember the password from the root, but now it turns out again I have to worry about what she will do with the system ...

Yes. She is standing by herself. With the next aggravation of work in all sorts of virtual machines and Linux in general, it helps a lot.
It was never enough. And in general, no antivirus is enough. Just like Linux is not a panacea!
You put uBlock origin + uMatrix + Unchecky and a verbal ban on launching files from letters from the tax office, the prosecutor's office, the presidential administration of Angola and other garbage.
