Windows 8 & AMD Radeon HD6470M?
Actually, subject.
There is a laptop, HP dv6-6029sr, it has two video cards - AMD Radeon HD6470M and HD42xx built-in. Everything worked well on Windows7, after switching to Win8, problems began, namely:
1) HD6470M turned into 7400M Series in Device Manager.
2) When trying to install any drivers by any method, the OS crashes into a BSOD with the text "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, atikmndag.sys" - even the latest beta drivers from the AMD website cannot solve this problem.
3) Accordingly, the OS runs on basic video drivers - you can forget about games or other things that require a normal video card on Win8.
I don’t want to switch back to 7k - I like the interface and 8k chips, but the bugs with the video are annoying. Who will advise what? :) Write to AMD or HP support - IMHO, the idea is bad - no one knows anything there anyway ...

HP laptop, but different model. Also HD6470M card, but defined as 7400M. Drivers from the AMD website were not installed. There were no errors or BSODs. As a result, I downloaded the video drivers from the HP website and installed them (there are no drivers for Windows 8, I downloaded them from the seven).

Don't they work on stock games?
I have a desktop, however, and on the HD6670, and on the HD7770 you can normally play on the standard ones.
Also put 8k on HPdv706052er laptop.
I liked it, but I didn’t find firewood under the video ...
I suffered for three days in the evenings, tried a lot .
That's what helped
. Try it! links to firewood turned out to be from ftp hp, they have everything but they don’t publish it on the driver pages
There was a similar problem with the dv7 6053er - the firewood for the card offered by Windows did not work, only the Intel card worked. The utility from amd.com could not detect the card.
I solved the problem by installing stock AMD 7 drivers from the HP website.
