Windows 8.1 recreated the domain user profile folder, how do I get the old profile back?

Good afternoon. There was such a problem. There was a user profile on one computer of the organization with all the necessary settings. One day the user loads that profile and finds it empty. There were 2 folders in the Users folder: the required profile folder <User_name> and the new folder <User_name>(dot)<Domain_name>.
Simply dragging and dropping files and folders into the new profile is not an option. A lot of software is attached to that profile, which for some reason does not work in the new profile. I tried to solve it through the registry: I found the ProfileList folder and found that the entry there is not .bak, but as a completely new user. I tried to "make a knight's move" and refer this profile to the old folder in the folder address, but after each such trick, windows creates new profile folders: UserName.Domain.000, UserName.Domain.001, UserName.
There is access to ActiveDirectory, if suddenly the problem is in it. I can’t get to the old profile at all, only through the admin account.

@ru6ak

Copy the entire contents of the profile folder, including hidden files.
In general, just because windows does not create a new profile, it is possible that there are big problems with the old one, read the event log.
