Windows 8.1 freezes from time to time?

Recently there was a problem with windows 8.1, it started to freeze for a few minutes at any time. And absolutely everything freezes, the system gets up for a few minutes. I checked for viruses, from this side everything is clean. Maybe try defragmenting again?
Any ideas how to overcome this problem?

There can be a million problems, Windows 8.1 itself does not behave this way, something is spinning inside it or has changed its files.
Starting from Windows 7, I forgot about such dependencies, this is from September 2009.
