Windows 10 without antivirus, is it possible?

Hello. Recently, I began to think about how much antivirus software is needed in windows 10. I mean a third-party antivirus software. I read articles about the fact that it is possible to restrict the launch of programs only from the Program Files and Windows folders through group policies. In principle, this can be quite good, in my opinion, to protect the computer from any garbage, prohibit writing to certain folders, and so on.
Is there any risk in this? I don’t know windows very well, so the question for the connoisseurs, will there be any problems if you allow launching only from the specified folders? Are there any pitfalls with this method?
Maybe there are people here who have it all implemented.

depending on which user. the virus itself will magically never appear on your computer. and if the user is a "fool" - he will get porn banners and ransomware with the same Kaspersky.

For 5 years I have been living with Windows without antivirus.
Didn't make any additional settings.
The recipe is simple - out of 50 installed programs, not a single one with dermets.

At work I put more out of habit and then SEP is administered. Home is long gone. If something is caught - I roll back to the backup.
