Will there be a measurable performance boost by choosing a fixed HDD size for VDI?

Hello.
I'm going to deploy 2 virtual machines with OS CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1611
under hadoop using Oracle Virtual Box Version 5.1.18 r114002 (Qt5.6.2)
the question arose whether there would be a really significant increase in performance
instead of a dynamically expanding disk, choose a fixed one?
