As far as I know, by the release of kernel 2.0, Tux appeared in the kernel. 3.0-rc2 is already out. Should we expect a new logo?

Tux has already taken root and represents something more than just linux. So IMHO you don't have to wait for the logo change.

Rebranding will not hurt, because. Tux IMHO it's time to change its positioning in the market.
