Will the mini swiftbook for the concept of syntax work?

I started learning swift and they advised a course on swiftbook https://swiftbook.ru/content/1-video-1/ , and there is a rather old xcode and the question is, will this course come down to understand the basic syntax or is there something newer , it's just that I'm not very good with English, I'm just starting to delve into it and thought that for a start you can understand the base in Russian, and already knowing it will be easier in English. courses

Since the end of August, I have been dealing with development on swift for macOS. It's worse here, basically everything is focused on iOS

Try to read the original "Swift .... 5.3". It's not clear, read the translation of the outdated edition
. When working with xcode, some things need to be seen. Where is there something with a control or other modifier to press and where to drag. Alas, when developing for an apple, it’s impossible to do without a mouse, in my opinion. Under android, I could fix almost everything in a text editor. Mac service files have a less obvious structure.

I prefer to deal with the language using example programs

With swift, the ass is that found example may not run. So, it will be useful to install a second copy of XCode version 10.1
Well, often not on swift at all, but only on Objective-C
