Will the app be allowed in the AppStore with two versions instead of an in-app purchase?

Will applications be missed in the appStore if two versions are posted: one paid, and the second with advertising and incomplete? Can't arrange in-app purchase to open content.

Most likely yes, depending on how incomplete it is. If it does not violate HIG i.e. has some useful functionality, I do not see any problems. Recently released, only it was full with ads disabled in-app. IMHO, this is the best way to do it. What is the problem with making in-app?
