Will multi-threaded query processing in PostgreSQL give an increase?

There are 100 tables outside of PostgreSQL. Each has 200K lines. You need to execute a number of SELECT queries in PostgreSQL. Will multi-threaded processing grow?
How is PG with this case in general? Does he know how to use the core efficiently or will he count n threads on one core?
