Will desktop testing experience come in handy?

Good afternoon. I was given an offer to one good and well-known company in Russia, but for manual testing of the desktop, with the possibility of writing tests in C#. I myself want to do web testing, namely autotests. My question is: should I agree to testing the desktop to get the initial experience and later go where I want (during this time I will study automation tools better) or is it better to go straight from 0 to the area that interests me? (but it is not clear how long to wait and go to interviews then)

the experience of testing a desktop is most likely not useful on the web, since the approaches, practices and tools are different (well, except for the standard ones - "we poke buttons and fill in the inputs")
the demand for the web is greater (simply because the web is larger),
but there are also desktop vacancies (acronis, parallels, etc)
according to the practice of friends - desktop developers usually go into testing pieces of iron (the demand is even less) - but this is already like a "state of mind" :) when you want to dig lower and lower
imh: if the soul does not lie with desktops / pieces of iron - look for a job right away on the web,
but if you are just starting your job in testing, then a year or two will not be superfluous for us to work with anything, you will understand how the development processes, working with requirements, agile, scrum, and that's all :)
on automarization tools - the main thing is to master the base of the PL well (it doesn’t matter if it is C#, Java, Python, etc), since the tools (frameworks) are learned quickly
