Will adding a 3rd stick of RAM work?

The computer has 2x4GB ddr4 2400 installed. I want to buy another 8GB stick with the same frequency, and from the same manufacturer, since buying 2x4GB again is ≈1000 rubles more expensive :). Will all this start and will the dual-channel work if set according to this scheme: [0 - 4gb: 2400 - 8gb: 2400 - 4gb: 2400]?

It is better to overpay 1000 rubles and you will not lose speed on 2-channel operation, otherwise it will all work in single-channel mode.

will work.
multi-channel mode on all three bars with a high probability will not work .
for accuracy, carefully read the documentation for the motherboard, the possible modes should be listed there

It’s better to sell 2x4 before it’s too late and take at least 2x8, or even 1x16
2x4 ddr4 is no longer needed by anyone - therefore it is significantly more expensive, this is essentially the minimum size for ddr4, like 512 for ddr2

One will not work for 16, the author most likely has Ryazan, without a two-channel it is very sad. And yes, it is better to overpay a thousand and install 2 pairs of modules. And it is worth considering the memory overclocking settings, 4 bars will not take the same frequencies as 2

Please refer to your processor documentation when installing memory because there may be limitations in the types and configurations of supported modules.
