Will a laptop work with a ddr3 bus frequency higher than provided?
Good day toasters and toasters!
I have an old ASUS K52JR laptop. It has two DDR3 sticks with a bus frequency of 1066 MHz (one for 2 GB, the other for 1 GB, both are "native"). Task: you need to increase the memory (buy two DDR3 sticks of 4GB each). DDR3 1066 MHz at 4 GB is quite difficult to find, because. it's already old. But it is full of DDR3 1333 MHz and higher. And on various forums, websites, etc. there is conflicting information: someone writes that setting the bar for a higher frequency will work normally, but at the frequency for which the laptop is designed (i.e. at 1066 MHz). Others write that the laptop will give an error and will not work (it will not accept DDR3) and, accordingly, you need a bar for exactly the frequency that the laptop is tuned to (i.e., 1066). Question (TO THOSE WHO REALLY SET THE BAR OF DDR MEMORY WITH A FREQUENCY HIGHER THAN IT IS PROVIDED : will a laptop with two DDR3 1333MHz sticks (4GB each) work like this or not?

The main thing is that there should not be more memory than is provided in the laptop. On this laptop, as I understand it, a maximum of 8 GB
