WiFi router + USB HDD
As a matter of fact, the question is: A device is required that meets the following requirements:
1) the price is minimal
2) It must distribute the Internet via WiFi to a maximum of 3 clients (no longer needed), the Internet is a VPN connection via LAN
3) Support for 802.11n is not needed. Also DSL is not needed. Also, additional Lan ports are not particularly needed.
4) Ability to connect USB HDD to it
5) Ability to install various services such as torrent / http / FTP client on it. those. so that you can download files directly to the screw, and then copy from it via WiFi. those. in fact something like a NAS + WiFi Router
6) a transmission range of 1-2 rooms is enough.
I looked in the direction of the WNR3500L-100, but there are too many bells and whistles that are not needed, and the price does not suit either.

I want to recommend a slightly more expensive, but more productive model, such as Asus WL-500gp (or something from this line), and quietly run “torrent / http / FTP services”.
I plugged an external HDD into dir-320, then using this script wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=21889 I installed all possible programs and http, and torrents, and everything worked fine. And IPTV even shows.
instead of dir-320 I recommend tplink. with comparable functionality - the price is lower. And for the same money as dir-320, you can and should buy tp link 1043
Asus WL-500gp is good for everyone if it suits the read / write speed from the screw: a maximum of 3 megabytes / sec.
