WiFi router solution with USB-HDD for movie storage and CACTI or NAS?

Hello.
I am interested in the following question.
Task:

  1. Internet channel monitoring (availability, channel loading)
  2. storage for files that can be viewed on a mobile device.

On the first point - the solution is implemented on a server with a unix system, install CACTI, for example. BxCuwII.png
On the second point, there are routers + USB-HDD with torrent clients.
Preferably a solution out of the box.
I found such a device as ASUS DSLN16U , but I'm not completely sure whether it will solve the tasks
. Please advise a solution.
Regards, Alexey

Under normal circumstances, it won't work.
It's better to look towards NETGEAR WNDR4700 then. Take a look at www.cnet.com/products/netgear-wndr4700-media-stora ... to see if these speeds suit you and you can look at the devices at the same time.
I tried to use Asus RT-N16 as a file dump and a torrent-rocking chair, well, the feeling is uncomfortable to put it mildly, the fact that the speed of work was even no more than 3Mb / s, it still hung up every 20-30 minutes, after tuning, installation radiators for percent and memory and fan, it became a bit less likely to hang. There was also a Zyxel Keenetic Ultra, well, it worked better, it rarely hangs, but it hangs, the speed when working with the HDD is again not a fountain, and in any case you won’t get good speed on USB 2.
The problem of routers is very weak processors, it will not work to launch a full-fledged torrent-rocking chair.
I have Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN and HP Microserver Gen 7 N54L. The first device does exactly what it is designed for, it does just fine, it is very flexible in settings, it is very stable, what it can’t do can be finished with scripts, there are no torrent clients on it. The second device works as a NAS, it is enough for the eyes for these purposes, it has one of the firmware from the NAS manufacturers.
You can do it a little differently, take an HP Microserver Gen 8, it has 2 network ports, set up a gateway and a file cleaner on it, then put a regular switch behind it.
But in both cases with a server, the prices of solutions are not very low.

I have Asus RT-N18 - when the torrent downloads, the processor is not enough to process the response for the Transmission client. Although this model has quite a good percentage. The Internet copes with the task of distributing, but when there was a laptop for this purpose, it was much better.
So I recommend looking towards the micro-norths - more expensive, but worth it.
