WiFi HotSpot solution based on OpenSource - which is better?

There was a task: to build a HotSpot infrastructure in one small settlement at minimal cost, quickly and to the maximum using the existing hardware. The task was set by an Internet provider that already has a well-developed infrastructure in this locality and wants to add one more service to its customers. For existing customers (they all have a username and password) - completely free as a bonus. For potential customers: with prepaid cards or free of charge but with a very limited speed (or time?).
From the available radio equipment: a bunch of Mikrotiks, a little less of all the good stuff from Ubiquity Networks, a little less - LinkSys with OpenWRT on board.
Upon first consideration, I have a solution with ChilliSpot + FreeRadius (for example, like here, but, since I have little experience in this topic, I decided to consult with the powerful mind of Habr:
- On the basis of which OpenSource software is it better to solve this problem and why?
- What pitfalls / surface rakes can you stumble upon here and how to get around them?
- What should you think about in advance?
According to the results, I promise to write a report on the implementation later, so that the time spent by the respected Khabrazhitels will result in a description of a specific well-worn path, which others can easily follow later.
What will be the thoughts?

Something I have the feeling that the questions somehow float past the field of view of most Khabrazhiteley. Judging by the lack of feedback...

We use pfsense which is spinning on an old PC. It can do a lot of things out of the box (especially the second version) and is configured via the web gui. But this is a freebsd-based system, and therefore we want to get away from it and switch to zeroshell.
