There was a need to create a local wireless network for 1000+ clients.
A web server will live on the network, so dns support is also needed.

Recommend a device, please.

cisco wlc2504 as a controller + air-lap-1142 as points, in the right amount, based on 10-15 people per point.

It doesn't say anything at all.
It's one thing - 1000+ clients, participants of one conference, crammed into a couple of large halls.
Another thing is 1000+ clients in an even layer throughout the city.
These are completely different tasks with completely different solutions.

If there are 1000 users locally, then no cisco, juniper, aruba will help you. There are no knee solutions either. Look aside www.xirrus.com/Products/Wireless-Arrays/Product-Co...
