Wi-fi mesh with static IP and Windows 7

One of the access points that I use requires manual IP configuration, DHCP is disabled there.

How would I configure Windows 7 so that the laptop normally connects to this point automatically? Now you have to open the adapter settings every time and drive in the data, and when you leave the coverage area, switch to DHCP accordingly.

Interestingly, the iPhone normally stores the configuration only for this point, and there are no such problems.

Make a .cmd file with this line:
netsh interface ip set address name="Wireless Network Connection" source=static addr=xxxx mask=yyyy gateway=zzzz
replacing x, y and z with real numbers

If I understand correctly what is required. It may be easier to prescribe an alternative configuration in the properties of the wireless adapter protocol ...

You can use a third party profile manager. I used NetSetMan for a while . Set up two profiles - with static parameters and with dynamic ones.

Laptops usually have a Wi-Fi utility from the manufacturer installed. Such utilities can remember settings. There is also a lucid link and a bunch of other wi-fi clients. They can store connection settings.
