Is it advisable to buy a home router ASUS RT-AC68U for 10k+?

There is a similar model in the office - it just works well, but for the home the price tag is embarrassing.
What I like ..
- dual-band - there are a lot of "old" and "new" devices at home
- VPN .. in general, it's just good that it is there, in general, I could forward the home network through NAS
- nice interface
- does not "stupid"

It depends on the speed of the house and on your devices, if the houses are gigabit, and the devices support ac, then there are not so many alternatives. Regarding the price tag, look at the routers from apple or cisco and the toad will immediately let go.

Ask yourself a few questions:
1) How many devices do you have at home?
2) How many devices at home support AC?
3) Is the Internet channel larger than 100MB?
From myself, I’ll say that you won’t be able to load this device even by 20 percent, unless of course you make access without a password so that the whole house can use it :)
My office is a generation older without AC, holds about 90 connections and I can’t say that it is loaded more than 50%
Therefore, I think it is not advisable to buy such a piece of iron home!

TP-LINK TL- WDR3600 - no worse, gigabit ports, two bands, it's better to install OpenWRT firmware

If it fits into the budget - why not. Everyone here is so strange, "you can't load it even xx%", as if this is the only criterion by which routers are bought.
First of all, he's not stupid. Secondly, it is aesthetic (it even has a button to turn off the LEDs, that's what progress has come to!). Well, for everything that you might need at home, it should be enough.
So if the budget does not press, feel free to take it. If it presses - see above about tlinks and microtics. P.s. I myself have a tplink at home (not the first one), I bought my parents home just such an asus. Everyone is happy, but the asus is prettier :).
