Why won't windows start on acer laptop?
The acer e1-531g laptop had windows 8.1. During the running toy, the laptop rebooted and the error "unmountable boot volume" got out. Tried doing a system restore, didn't help. Then I made a bootable flash drive, checked the hard drive. No errors were found.
Tried to reinstall the OS. Uploaded the windows 10 distribution to a flash drive. Started the installation. The installer started up fine. I tried to install over the old Windows. The installer files copied normally, but after the reboot, the error "unmountable boot volume" got out again.
Then I tried to install with formatting disks. Formatted disks (moreover, I noticed that in the disk settings for some reason it is impossible to delete and re-create disks, only format them). Copying files, rebooting and again the same error.
Removed the hard drive from the laptop. Connected to the system unit. Tried to install Windows on it. The installation of windows 10 was successful, without errors. Put the hard back on acer. Launched, and again the same error (!).
Checked the RAM. Works fine.
What else could be the problem? I read on one site: "The most common cause of the error is problems with the file system and the partition structure on the hard drive."

Delete all partitions on the disk. Do Clean, then re-initialize.
the easiest way to diagnose in your case is to rearrange the hard drive from a PC to a laptop and try to start on it
There may be a problem with the boot chips on the motherboard or the bios has flown. If the first, then it's cheaper to buy a new laptop than to look for what doesn't work where, if the second, then you should disassemble the laptop and reflash the BIOS. If there is no way to reflash the BIOS, then it is better to take it to the service for diagnostics and repair.
And for independent tests, I recommend trying to install Linux Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and test the work on it.
