Why won't Steam launch on OS X 10.10 Yosemite?
The day before yesterday I bought a new Mac Mini Late 2014 i5 2.6 GHz with OS X 10.10 Yosemite on board. I went to the Steam website and downloaded the steam-2.dmg file . Launched, installed - everything is ok. Even downloaded the game and even played. Turned off the computer, went to work. I come, turn it on, go to Launchpad, and I have this Steam icon there: I click on it, but Steam does not start. Restarting the computer didn't help. How to solve this problem?

Did you transfer the final app file to Application? So why steam-2.dmg? They have a link on the main media.steampowered.com/client/installer/steam.dmg with an image, try it.
The same problem, the Steam shortcut has changed and it does not open {sad emoticon}
There is a separate DotA shortcut, it also does not respond to pressing.
It's obvious, the guy wants to play dota 2
p/s
dota 2 generally doesn't work well on a poppy, it crashes every half hour. For example, civilization works stably, but the pillbox crashes. And now, after the last update, it began to work stably, but mb for a week. Now, in general, Steam is down ... I think it’s not a matter of yeshemite ... bugs at the volvo
upd factory The
old Steam label was sent to the trash, the new one downloads for 1 minute, everything works OK
Guys, I myself have been struggling with this problem for a very long time. They generally made some mistakes after Lion. My advice to you, if you want to play anything on a mac, install Win7 via BOOTCAMP, and be surprised that there are no problems with games.
If the place is small, then the games can be installed, in fact, like any other programs on an external HDD
. It removes all problems as if by hand.
