Why won't my laptop turn on after installing Linux?
Good evening!
A little background to help understand the essence of the issue.
DELL Vostro 15 3000 series laptop, Windows 10 was installed. The laptop was very slow and hung under it, and therefore decided to switch to Linux, namely Kali (I wanted to develop in the field of information security). I made a bootable flash drive, on the laptop through Live marked out the areas for the new OS. The installation was successful, at the very end the installer said: "Remove the flash drive" or something like that, which actually was done, after a couple of seconds the laptop turned off. I tried to turn it on, but the laptop categorically refuses to start. After pressing the power button, a characteristic sound of turning on appears, but literally after a second the sound of turning off. As I understand it, even the BIOS does not start. What to do in this situation?

Understood, the reason was quite funny. During installation, the laptop was discharged and this coincided with the moment the flash drive was removed.
Most likely you repartitioned the disk and this killed the uefi section with the bootloader.
I’m not sure about kali, but for ubuntu, dell has a standard instruction
. If anything, find the settings for the boot method in the BIOS and select legacy or something there (most likely it’s uefi), if it’s not available to you, then you probably don’t have this manufacturer allowed, which means you need to look for the possibility of using the uefi bootloader for linux, these are signed images, so you yourself cannot assemble one.
These are general words, perhaps specifically in your case there will be more options.
