Why Windows 7 forgets usb flash drive?
It is necessary that the USB flash drive in the system always has the same drive letter. This refers to one specific flash drive, and not any. With the old flash drive (Kingston, 8Gb) everything was in order: in Disk management I once set a new letter (X) and it was always assigned on subsequent connections of this flash drive. All other flash drives were assigned the letter (G).
I bought a new flash drive Kingston DT101 G2/32GB. Each time it is connected, the driver for it is reinstalled. In this case, the drive letter of the flash drive becomes no longer (X), but is assigned by the system, in this case (G). The computer seems to "forget" it.
Installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1, all updates are installed as they become available.
Maybe someone has come across something similar? How to permanently assign a letter to a new flash drive.

Until you find a normal solution, a workaround can be a batch file in the scheduler for every minute execution, which will scan disks from G to Z for the presence of the desired folder, and then map it to the desired one with subst. Of course, the output of the batch file to / dev / nul, so that it doesn’t spoil with errors.
In principle, you can put in the same batch file instructions for deleting a task and creating a new one, which will be performed the same way once a minute, but scan for the absence of a folder on the specified disk. And if he finds it, he kills himself and creates the first one.
Well, that's right, the recipes in my chaynitsky opinion.
The driver should not be installed every time, it looks like the problem is this.
