Why understand OS levels and below in application development?

does a mobile application developer need to know low-level (relatively) things like isa, OS multitasking, compiler devices? Maybe you don’t need to know about any memory addressing and function call stack above the basic concepts at all?

depends on tasks.
if the tasks are a banal butt, covered by the provided system api, then nafig (usually *) did not rest.
if the tasks are to tweak / expand, then it is very useful.
* understanding the system at a low level may (not the fact that) allow you to write optimized code and / or use undocumented features of the system / system api.
