Why slow down html5 video, flash in debian 7 with radeon HD 4850?
Good afternoon! Tell me, please, the solution to the problem - slows down the video html5, flash. The video from the disc plays without glitches. I think it might be a problem with the video card driver.
System Settings:
OS: Debian 7
Video card: Radeon HD 4850
Browser: Firefox ESR 52.2.0 (32-bit)
Desktop: GNOME Version 3.4.2

Update to the latest Debian release. Open radeon driver 2012 and 2017 are two very huge differences.
Or put proprietary. Just not sure which one. The description of fglrx in debian packages no longer says about the 4xxx series, but it seems that support for 4xxx was before the 13.1 driver. If it doesn't start, then try installing fglrx-legacy-driver from backports )
Only in the browser slows down? If so, then it is possible (most likely), because the player on some sites uses the stupid "Intel something-there" codec, which, although it can be decoded by hardware, is not your card (and in general cards up to 7xxx series of Radeons and ... some similar Nevidius), turn it off in the browser settings and you will again enjoy normal playback. You can see the codec used in "statistics for system administrators".
