Why might you need a "linux subsystem for windows beta version"?

I'm just xs why is it needed at all. Maybe someone will give some examples of how it is used. I’m just here for connecting via ssh to vps, I can’t figure out why I need all this.

For the same as Cygwin, only it should be much more convenient and flexible.
