It's called "load testing".
We write scripts that mimic user actions. Almost all popular load testing solutions (like jmeter) have proxy recorders that allow you to record your actions.
Then we take several servers and fire requests from them to our server. Well, or buy a subscription to the services. Thankfully there are many.
