Why might phpStorm hang when indexing a project?

phpstorm

ran into a problem. trying to install react libraries for d3 and victory. when indexing files, everything freezes forever, I tried to delete libraries and everything starts fine.
I tried to update the storm version, update the plugins ... does not work.
who faced similar?
