Why isn't the color applied to the gradient when picking a color with the eyedropper?
Hello. I'm new to chandelier and can't figure out why when clicking on the gradient guide (what the hell it's called) the color isn't dragged onto it.
For clarity, I made a video. In the first part of the video - a lesson where the dude is doing well. The second part of the video is mine. I was dumb, I had to somehow separate the videos so that they would not merge. You can distinguish my video by a more saturated yellow color of the cursor.

Don't be fooled by the fact that I took the colors with an eyedropper from a screenshot outside the artboard. Made samples - there is the same.
I am aware that it is possible to make swatches and from there drag the desired color onto the gradient slider.I'm wondering why everything works like this for the author of the video, because it's more convenient and easier. And in general, I would like to master such nuances. It has between clicking on the gradient slider and selecting the eyedropper, as if there is some kind of intermediate action. It's like it deselects the object, although in my case, the color for the object is not applied at all.
Here is a textual description of the problem:
I selected an object (rectangle), selected a gradient fill - the gradient settings menu opened. Next, I click on the gradient slider, select the eyedropper (there is a selection on the rectangle), click on the desired color - and instead of filling with a gradient, a solid color fill is applied. In the video, when the dude clicks on the slider, the fill from the gradient does not change to a solid color.
I changed colors from b/w to HSB and RGB - didn't help
