Why is zabbix not collecting data from the log file?
Hello
I ask to direct where to dig.
You need to monitor the log through zabbix so that the data from the log is saved and processed by zabbix.
Zabbix server, zabbix agent and the desired log file on the same server. Zabbix version 3.4.6.
zabbix_agentd.conf config:
Server=127.0.0.1
ServerActive=127.0.0.1
Hostname=host.name
host.name = Host name in the web interface for the server with zabbix.
The log file is available for the zabbix user, sudo -u zabbix tail -1 /tmp/test.log - prints the last line of the log.
There is nothing in the zabbix logs (no errors or warnings).
Log collection item - https://gyazo.com/25b19235d067ba765b789613e7784632
I update the log with a simple script: echo "$(date +\%Y.\%m.\%d\ \%H:\%M:\%S) string" >> /tmp/test.log
In the latest data in the interface zabbix is empty - https://gyazo.com/8932550f861da2705b631cb9ed3235f0
Tell me
what else to check, I don't understand why the data is not collected from the log?

It turns out that you need to create item in the same node that describes the required server. This moment turned out to be completely non-obvious for me, I mistakenly believed that when choosing an active zabbix agent, the agent on the current server is automatically selected and the node does not play a role.
