Why is the window not responding to actions?

Such a thing, I tried to save the project in the Fl Studio program, but a misfortune happened, it hung on the save window. The program window simply does not react to anything, the explorer on the screen too. And when I click on something, the sound is played, as if I'm trying to click on something, but windows requires you to select something in the dialog box, I apologize in advance for such an explanation.
Is there any way to kill the explorer process or what can be done in such cases? Don't want to lose 6 hours of work

I was lucky and the program saves work every 5 minutes. In the end, I just got the backup.

Alt+TABlook, maybe the modal warning (error) window is hidden under the others.
And you do not have explorer.exe, but the program's call to the save window from shell32.dll.

I'm afraid you 'll have to lose 6 hours of work . There is almost no way to fix a fatal application error without restarting the application. And you can’t even fix it, you’re not a developer, you can only restart.
This happens to me sometimes in Chrome when loading an image. The file selection window just opens, and then the browser just freezes, nothing can be done. In the file download window itself, sorting does not even occur, although it usually happens immediately after opening the window. Only this year (2019) this began to happen. It wasn't like that before. It appears to be an OS disease (I have Windows 7 x64 Ultimate). Although there is still a hypothetical option that this is a virus, and we have the same one with you.
Takeaway and Lesson: Save More Often, turn on autosave (there is one), set up the cloud, and generally be prepared for the fact that at any moment you will turn off the electricity, the laptop battery will explode, or the computer will smoke and you will need to unplug it.
