Why is the video card not working on a laptop?
Video card stopped working on laptop. At first there was a problem with the detection of the card by Catalyst, but deciding that the problem lies in the hardware, I climbed inside. Everything is in place, the contacts are in order, the only problem is that it has not been cleaned for a long time. It’s been 5 years for a long time (I didn’t use it). I changed the paste, groaned at the slightly burnt radiator, and checked if anything was moving away from anything.
All chips are connected, in place and there is nothing to just move away.
In this regard, the question is - what can be wrong with the card that the system does not see it?

Usually due to overheating.
If so, then the only sure remedy is to replace the chip or video card / motherboard.
If the service will offer "warming up" - then you should be careful - in the vast majority of cases, after some time (a day - a couple of months), the problem returns due to working heating
