Why is the sketch not uploaded to arduino, pro mini?
I connect pro mini via "USB To RS232" converter, in arduino IDE - Board chose the correct one, serial port from /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyS0 chose the first one. The programmer chose Arduino as ISP. As a result, when I try to upload the sketch, I get "avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding".
I pressed the reset when filling, I tried other combinations of serial port and programmer. Tell me what could be the problem?

For firmware, you need UART, not RS232, the levels are different there. I also encountered this: forum.amperka.ru/threads/%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%88%...
"Arduino as ISP" - there must be another Arduino as a programmer (the work of AVR ASP is simulated).
which USB-SerialTTL converter is used? is his DTR connected to Arduino on Reset?
if the Arduino is flashed through a COM port, its number and board type are indicated in the settings. no other programmers need to be included in the settings.
I once had a problem with the firmware of a particular instance of the new Pro-Mini. overnight I studied and tried all possible ways, even updated the firmware in the Chinese USBASP bought a year ago, installed AVRDude and learned how to use it :). I also mastered how to make an ISP from Arduino (I also have UNO).
in the end, it turned out to be a banal non-propelled reset of the chip itself in the Mini. moreover, when dialing, I pressed it with a probe to the track and the contact honestly called :)
