Why is the new device not connecting to wifi?

There is a router that does not have wps . I have a new device. I wanted to connect it to my wifi point, but nothing happens. I am entering the correct password. why? How to fix it?

1) turn on wifi
2) select a network
3) enter a password
The device connects and works. If not, then the one who so crookedly non-trivially * configured this router knows the answers to all questions.
Or you need to add the router configuration to the question so that people do not guess on the coffee grounds.
