Why is the graphical shell not loading automatically?
Greetings. I ask for advice. I recently installed Kali Linux on a VMWare virtual machine, connected the guest OS additions. Everything worked well, then I installed the recommended updates. After the reboot, the graphical shell is not loaded automatically. You have to press CTRL + Alt + F2, enter your username / password and then enter the startx command, after which the desktop loads. Is it possible to make a graph. the shell was automatically loaded as before? And what is the reason for this problem?

Have you decided that you can make a diagnosis without logs?
Based only on the information that you provided, I will assume that you did not upgrade with apt-get dist-upgrade. , although for Kali it is recommended to do it this way.
