Why is saving a file stuck in Windows 8?
A rather strange problem that is difficult to reproduce just like that. Sometimes it occurs in chrome, when you save some file from the web, a save window appears, but it is completely empty, i.e. it seems to be loading, but in fact it is frozen and nothing can be done about it. All background processes in chrome continue to run, but the window can only be closed with an emergency shutdown of chrome. Still very often this occurs in the Scissors application, I try to save a screenshot and the same thing - just a white window with no signs of life. Maybe this happens in other programs, but I don’t remember right off the bat.

If the problem is with the hardware, then:
- scan the disk for "bad" sectors (software-Victoria);
- examine the load on the disk at the time of freezing.
If there are problems with the software, then:
-reinstall.
But judging by the description, the problem occurs only when accessing the disk with the system, which means that the problem is most likely in the hardware.
