Why is Samba access slow from Windows 8.1?
There is a Debian server. VMWare is running on the same machine with a Windows 8 client OS. Several network drives are connected via Samba. Before updating to Windows 8.1, the speed was good, about 80 Mbps. After the update, the speed of access to network drives dropped to 240 Kbps. Felt when copying small files. There is a long reading of directories. When copying large files, the speed gradually increases to 80 Mbps. Debian has not been updated. What could be the reason? Thank you.
