Why is reading memcached slower than reading from disk?

On the Internet, I read only delights from memcached, but for some reason, reading from a disk is faster than reading from memcached. Reading is done using php. I believe that the tariff for vds on which the site is located is rather weak for memcached, but SSD drives are fast and therefore this result is obtained. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Maybe special settings need to be done in order for memcached to live up to its praise.

Memcache works with RAM. It may be small or it may have a limit. Or are you doing something wrong with it?
