Why is PgAdmin not accepting a database password (PSQL 12 and PgAdmin4)?

For some reason, PGAdmin refuses to accept the password from the database in its web face, although it connects to the database in the IDE without any problems. Reinstalling Postgresql didn't do anything. I do not want to disable the password at all. Has anyone come across something similar?

What database connection parameters do you specify and what is in pg_hba.conf?
